Getting here
Borgo Della Marmotta is on the edge of the Umbrian hills, in the central part of Italy. The Borgo is surrounded by beautifully rustic Italian villages and authentic Olive Oil farms.
Here are all the ways to get there, whichever suits you best.
San Francesco d’Assissi Airport
/Perugia Santegidio (PEG)
Car Rental /Transfer:
Drive 35 minutes via SS75/SS3 - RECOMMENDED
Perugia is a small airport and there are only 1-2 direct flights from London each day. We recommend booking early if planning to fly into Perugia airport.
Public Transport:
The public transport options from Perugia Airport aren’t great, so please let us know ahead of time if you are planning to fly into Perugia and do not plan on hiring a car. There may be an option to car-share for the short drive to the venue, or we can help arrange transport.
Rome Ciampino (CIA)
Car Rental/Transfer:
1h50 direct route via A1 OR 2h15 scenic route via Umbrian Hills SS4/SS79
Rome Fiumicino (FCO)
Car Rental/Transfer:
2h direct route via A1 OR 2h30 scenic route via Umbrian Hills SS4/SS79
Public Transport from Rome:
We are aware that a few people plan to visit Rome before/after the wedding. There is a direct train from Rome city centre (Roma Termini Station) to Spoleto and takes 1h30. Borgo Della Marmotta is a 15-minute drive from here. For those travelling by train, please let us know as someone will likely be able to collect you from the station, or we can help organise taxis in advance. Uber and taxi-hailing services do not operate in Spoleto, so booking in advance is a must.
If you plan on flying into Rome, we highly reccomend you spend a day or two there if you can. It's the BEST!
Florence Airport (FLR)
Car Rental/Transfer:
2h15 - 2h45 (multiple route options)
If planning to fly into Florence, then we would recommend hiring a car. The public transport options from Florence take around 3-4 hours.
We'll be updating the website with some more information, local recommendations, and general bits and pieces soon.
